Hi Everyone,

Before we kick off the weekend, we have some great news to share with you.

Two days ago, we shared with you that our PrimaLuna EVO 400 Tube Preamplifier has been honored with a Golden Ear Award from The Absolute Sound.

Today, we are proud to announce that our PrimaLuna EVO 100 Tube Phono Preamplifier has also received a TAS Golden Ear Award.

Dick Olsher from The Absolute Sound says the following about our EVO 100 Tube Phono Preamplifier:

PrimaLuna’s first standalone phonostage accepts both mm and low-output mc cartridges. Rather than use the conventional mc solution of either a step-up transformer or a solid-state stage for generating an additional 20dB or so of gain, PrimaLuna opted for a 6922 dual triode gain stage connected as a grounded grid circuit. Combined with the 40dB of gain generated by the mm stage, the total gain is 60dB—more than enough to satisfy any mc. It’s an absolutely fabulous tube extravaganza. Not only are both gain stages tube based, but add tube rectification and tube regulation via a pair of EL34 pentodes, and you have a unique circuit solution. The EVO 100 uses active inverse RIAA EQ based on feedback loops, emulating such classics as the Marantz 7 and Audio Research SP3a. System integration is super-easy via front-panel selectable mc input-impedance settings. For those of us addicted to tube sound, the EVO 100 is a godsend. It serves up a luscious midrange without losing sight of resolution, as well as the image focus and 3D soundstaging, that are tubes’ traditional strengths. This superlative phonostage elevates the vinyl playback experience to new heights. It has magnified DO’s enjoyment level to the point where he just can’t stop spinning vinyl. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲!

Our PrimaLuna EVO 400 Preamplifier has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Golden Ear Award by The Absolute Sound Magazine. This award highlights its outstanding performance, innovative design, and exceptional craftsmanship.

This is what The Absolute Sound Magazine say about our EVO 400 Tube Preamplifier:

The EVO 400 represents an evolutionary upgrade from the Dialogue Premium preamp. Probably the most significant (and obvious) new feature is balanced connectivity implemented using mu-metal-shielded quadfilar line transformers. It features massive and sophisticated power supplies, high-voltage regulation, exotic passive parts, and oh yes, tube rectification via a pair of 5AR4s. Its twin virtues of Goldilocks textural liquidity and tonal conviction are welcome news for a solid-state amplifier in search of textural fat and richness of tone. The really good news is that the EVO delivers the tonal beef without sacrificing speed and detail. Transients are negotiated with admirable speed and control. There is not much to complain about at the frequency extremes. The treble range is sweet and detailed without gratuitous brightness or brashness to interfere with the reproduction of violin overtones or upper registers of soprano voice, while the bass range features excellent pitch definition and timing. Its feel for microdynamic nuances and ability to scale the macrodynamic range from soft to loud captures much of the music’s dramatic content. The EVO 400 is not only PrimaLuna’s best line preamp offering ever, but it also holds its own against ultra-high-end competition. Miraculously, it manages to combine the virtues of modern tube sound with the tonal heft and timbral realism afforded by vintage tube preamps. (Forthcoming)

New Review! PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid Poweramplifier by Mr José Victor Henriques of Hifi Clube.NET in Portugal!
