My loudspeakers have a low efficiency and require a lot of control in the bass. Which PrimaLuna amplifier do you recommend, if any?
We understand from several PrimaLuna owners that our amplifiers can generally drive a wide range of speakers to their satisfaction. Of course, enough speakers still require more power than a full tube amplifier can deliver unless you decide to go with our most potent mono amplifiers. But such a combination of a Preamplifier + two Poweramplifiers comes at a price.
One of the first owners of a PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid previously played with a PrimaLuna EVO 300 Tube Integrated Amplifier. It was an amplifier he was delighted with, but he still missed some extra power and bass control. He thought about adding a subwoofer or switching to a PrimaLuna pre-power amplifier combination to get some extra power. However, he didn’t have the space for a pre-power amplifier combination. The customer has a vast LP collection and prefers to spend the space on more records. Adding a subwoofer did not give the result he was looking for, so he decided to read up on the EVO 300 Hybrid Integrated Amplifier. Before his PrimaLuna “journey”, this customer played with solid-state amplifiers for decades. He then experienced his first tube amplifier, our ProLogue One, and later the EVO 300 Tube Integrated. He decided he did not want to return to solid-state—so he was very skeptical about our new EVO 300 Hybrid Integrated Amplifier.
However, he could listen to our Hybrid at his dealer, and he was satisfied and became interested. He was interested enough to take the PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid home to listen in his environment and setup. After a hundred hours of playback (he had the amp on loan for more than three weeks), the customer was convinced that this EVO Hybrid amplifier would be his new amplifier. The EVO Hybrid gave him the extra power he was looking for, more and deeper tight bass, extra dynamics, and, in addition, he indicated that the neutral character was decisive for him.
Of course, the above opinion is based on personal experience, and the results will differ for everyone. In all cases, we advise you to follow your feelings and let your ears decide. But before your ears can decide, give them the time to listen.

Mr. Dick Olsher of The Absolute Sound Magazine USA reviewed our PrimaLuna EVO 100 Tube Phono Preamplifier and calls it: “A Sonic Masterpiece!”
“This superlative phonostage is bound to elevate your vinyl playback experience to new heights. It has certainly magnified my enjoyment to the point where I just could not stop listening to vinyl. I can’t think of higher praise than that. It is so good that, for now, I see no reason to spend more on a phonostage. It is without a doubt a sonic masterpiece!”

In this review you will learn how Alex Halberstadt went from “My initial listening impressions of the PrimaLuna were hardly positive. It sounded listless, grayish, and shut down and emphasized groove noise to a perverse degree. Whatever it was supposed to be doing just wasn’t happening.”
To: “I’ve never heard that instrument sound as stirring as it did on that record through the PrimaLuna, playing in the air between my speakers like an apparition and roiling my body with goosebumps.”
