ISE Amsterdam, 3 days platform for audio, video, automation, electronics etc. Three days our “office” as relations from all over the world, BeNeLux included, meet there.
So let’s do it the easy way. Travel by train instead by car. Just one hour to go and one hour to return. Let me already tell you now: BIG Bullshit. Nothing works, nobody knows, everybody is stressed.
If you buy the tickets in advance by internet, NS states on the paperwork: You saved 75% Carbonic. Maybe true, but I consumed 5000% more Oxygen than during a trip to China!
The very first day …
06.30 Wake up early, so no stress to get in time at the RAI in Amsterdam.
08.23 Departure Den Bosch to travel via Amsterdam Amstel and Duivendrecht to arrive at RAI station around 09.37.
At the time of writing this blog it is 10.35 and we stop at station Hilversum … Due to wrong announcements, delays, NS people who don’t even know themselves what is going on, we have already been in Amsterdam, for a second time in Utrecht and now on the way to Amsterdam RAI. Time of arrival? Hopefully before 12.00. It is planned to arrive 11.23. “Only” 2 hours longer than the one hour planned.
One of the reasons of all this trouble, according to one of the NS people: the announcement boards outside were giving wrong information. We announced this IN the train. “Yes, but we were outside”. Oh, that’s bad luck, but I cannot help it.
Another reason is that the info system on the mobile seemed to be out of order. Whatever you asked, the answer was: no info available.
If you have the luck to travel with someone who loves the toilet during travelling: Hang Yourself! Or the trains have no toilet, or these are out of order and locked. Even on the Central Station in Utrecht!
NS? Nucking Shit. Anyone here complaining about Made or done in China? Take the train in China and you are ready to emigrate. Reserved and guaranteed seats, bottle of water, daily paper etc. Delays? Hahaha, only in case of a National Disaster. And that is what the first part of this trip to Amsterdam RAI was. A National Disaster. I feel sincere pity for the people who have to travel NS every day …
In the evening the return was without problems. The travelling on day two and the first part of day three too was like it should be. Thank you. Last return home on day three was again like day one. Announcements being different from reality. A NS lady yelling “the boards are wrong, I am right” made me think “she is good old analog, the boards are fucking wrong digital”. Anyway, we decided to go out own way: direction Schiphol and from there direct to Den Bosch (by train, not by plane).
Conclusion: It’s amazing that we hardly have any accidents with trains in Holland ….
