How about the status of our audio industry …? Is it Glory, glory, Allelujah or is it in deep trouble? Follow Up Part 1 (don’t know if more will follow) …

In case you did not notice there have been several reactions on my article of last Friday about the status of our audio industry.

Today the week starts with the bankruptcy of “De Harense Smid”. While recently we already had to say “Goodbye” to Free Record Shop and iCentre. It’s maybe not exactly “our audio”, but it is for sure related and indicating things are changing fast, very fast. Music becoming cheap or free and hardware becoming cigarette-box size or smaller …

It makes me wonder how to look at digital. Good or bad? Good and bad? If the digital girls and guys have to decide we won’t have any records or cd’s in the future. Books, magazines and papers going the same direction? Will the camera survive or be a part of your mobile? Will mobile survive or will we have a communication spot somewhere in our clothes? Under our skin or in our (Google and other) glasses? How about digital clothing with an on/off switch? I am sure there will be a digital version of good old sex. How and when?

It is for sure all these changes are very interesting, but a lot of people go through a lot of pains, that is for sure too. Let’s hope for the best and let’s hope all these technical developments won’t kill human life.
