This package from Italy was hardly expected. The Sonus faber Olympica III speakers just arrived at Mono & Stereo HQ’s. You can read about new Olympica line in my exclusive interview with Sonus faber’s Paolo Tezzon and Livio Cucuzza here. It will give you a nice insights into the minds of two Sonus faber’s masterminds responsible for company R & D and design.
Sonus faber Olympicas are an eye catching objects of aesthetics beauty. Company returned to their roots with the walnut and real leather as their primal materials. It shows, that the team took the time and refine them with highest demands. Olympica speakers feels luxurious at touch with a monumental and timeless aura surrounding them.
First more detailed listening impressions are coming soon followed by the in depth review in due time. They need at least 100 hours of “break in” as advised by Paolo, but how could I resist not to try them? And, how they sound?
First thing that came to my mind after an initial listening was a “little” Aida. Open, with spot on timbre, controlled deep bass and contemporary transparent nature of Aida. It feels like trickle down Aida, with all the right ingredients left untouched.
Sonus faber Olympica raison d’être is without guessing an emotional aural and visual captivation combined.
