Having every day good news come to us means we have to do a lot of work.
We have been now almost 40 years hard at work for different high end companies companies. Think of solid state brands like Krell and Cello, tube brands like Audio Research and Conrad Johnson, speaker brands like Sonus faber and Wilson Audio. Thát brings a lot of experience! We have seen what’s been done correct and even more important what’s been done wrong. And … as being the “far away” representative, we were also responsible for solving the many technical issues which come with most high end equipment. I dare to see that often we know more about the product than the manufacturer himself.
Next to that we are and have been always in a relatively small market. A small market, specially today, means in high end turnover, a carton here and a carton there. Lot of work, relatively small turnover and profit. So already since many, many years we have been designing and manufacturing some gear we could sell all over the world. Think of Kiseki, AudioPhile Products, AH! Njoe Tjoeb, CoGelCo, PinPoints, Mystère and since already 10 (!) years PrimaLuna. How time flies …
PrimaLuna has become a famous brand and is often mentioned together with the original Marantz, McIntosh, Audio Research, VAC, Cary etc. And we are proud of that. Very proud. Why? Because it is our passion. It is our work. And what did that work bring us today? The Tube Amplifier of the Year Award by ToneAudio for the PrimaLuna DiaLogue Premium Poweramplifier. And we were allowed to be on the same page as the Pass Labs Xs 300 Monoblocks. US $ 3,200 versus US $ 85,000. 🙂
Read the full review by ToneAudio’s Jeff Dorgay on the PrimaLuna DiaLogue Premium Poweramplifiers in the ToneAudio website. Once we have received the clean pdf we will make it downloadable here
A year or two ago, best sound I heard at the biggest swiss high-end show came from a pair of Focal Scala Utopia III, driven by a PrimaLuna Dialogue 2 with NOS tubes. Incredible. IMHO, it put huge systems “worth” ten times the price in the grave! I then bought PL Dialogue 5 to drive my Kef Reference 205. Midrange to die for! So I can only fantasize about these driving even bigger or less sensitive speakers with even more control, slam and dynamics! Drewling… You did it again, Herman! 😉
Thanks Sébastien. Great to read this. And it is great fun to do all this. It’s great excitement. And I am already exciting ,myself and my people here with the next things to come … :-). The -hopefully- never ending journey for the next step level up.
