I had last night exactly 3 hours to sleep and did only 2. I even woke up before the alarm got “active”. Ánd felt good enough to get out almost immediately. After a warm shower, the usual “bread burnt” action and ask the driver for another 10 minutes to finish a few things. During the drive to the factory this “fresh” guy sleeps immediately, but wakes up in time before arrival. The Chinese friends are waiting outside to welcome me and after the usual jokes and remarks we go in. Happy New Year – Gōng Xǐ Fā Cái is the next greeting for me and with a big smile the manager gives me a small red envelope, which I am supposed to open. 100 RMB. The first profit of the day :-). In the past when we stayed in China during New Year we did the same to the children living in the building. They sometimes come even to the door to say: Happy New Year, can I get my red envelope … :-). And then to work.

As usual a small tour through the factory to see if there are any differences. You never know. Everything seems to be as usual and so, ok. The management felt relieved, as the first day after the vacation it seems to be always exciting to see who returns and who does not. All workers returned this year. 🙂

The real work. Discussing 5 minutes about a fitting problem in a product, which after 3 hours of discussion becomes clear to everybody and for which we have found a working solution (we hope).

Of course around noon everybody is speeding to lunch as food is since it is available, one of the most important things for the Chinese people. Well, for me too, so here we go. Have a look at our outside restaurant. Temperature around 21 degrees, so not too bad. Everything available: beer, vegetables, chicken, the beef ordered … but that is pork … Yes, we had no beef anymore :-).  Back to work!

Up to the new and exciting. And thát’s something I cannot talk about yet :-). But it is a real Next Level Up in one of our ranges. I am really excited about this and hopefully we will be able to show already something “undercover” in Münich. OK, work is done, let’s go home. I have to wait as they want to bring me personally.

In the car I have been sleeping and snorring well they said … Had to get back some hours, while this morning I thought if I can do every day with a few hours sleep I have much more hours to live. So much to do, so much to enjoy. But … no stop at home, a stop at another restaurant instead. These guys want to eat good, so when there is a guest they entertain, eat and drink. For example with me … Hopefully more news, less food, tomorrow.
